The former Clinical Laboratory and Pathology Department occupied approximately 14,500 sf. At the outset of the project, Morph was presented with an estimate of 31,000 for the required size of the future Clinical Laboratory and Pathology Department – more than a 200% increase in size. Morph Design developed a plan of 22,000 sf – a 50% increase – saving Woman’s Hospital approximately $5,000,000 in construction costs. In addition, the overall Test Volume Capacity of the new laboratory is 2-3 times that of their previous laboratory.
